Compatibility:

Pre-Requisites:

Procedure to install Android 8.1 Oreo ROM on Galaxy S Advance I9070.

Step 1: Download all the zip package files on your PC. Do not extract them.

Step 2: Now connect your phone to the PC using a USB cable. Enable mass storage mode and transfer the downloaded zip files to your phone.

Step 3: Disconnect your phone from the PC and switch it off completely. Then boot your phone into TWRP recovery mode.

Note: Recovery mode can be entered by pressing & holding Volume up + Home button (middle button) + Power button together till you land into recovery.

Before flashing any custom ROM it is necessary to backup your current ROM. The is also called as Nandroid backup.

Step 4: From the main menu of TWRP recovery, select the Wipe option.

Step 5: On the next screen swipe right to initiate the factory reset process.

Note: This step will wipe out the data on your phone memory so make sure you have backed up everything before doing this step.

Step 6: Now flash the chrono_kernel_r5.9.3-janice.zip file which you’ve downloaded earlier. For that select the Install option from the TWRP main menu. This will show you all the files and folders present on your phone’s memory.

Step 7: Just navigate to the Chrono kernel which you’ve copied earlier and select it. On the next screen just swipe right to initiate the flashing process.

Step 8: The flashing process will hardly complete in a minute. As soon as it finishes, you’ll see a successful message on the screen.

Step 9: Then go back and install the ReParted.zip file in the same way as you’ve flashed the Chrono kernel.

Note: This will wipe your phone system, data, and cache partitions.

Step 10: Let’s flash the Android 8.1 Oreo ROM now. So click on Install and select the Lineage OS 15.1 custom ROM.

Step 11: After successful flashing of ROM, install the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip file which you’ve downloaded.

Step 12: Again install the chrono_kernel_r5.9.3-janice.zip file.

Step 13: Lastly, install the Google Apps.zip file which contains Google Play Store, Google Maps, Gmail, Gtalk, etc.

Step 14: Everything completes here. Just restart your phone by selecting the Reboot->System option present on the TWRP recovery mode itself.
