As the release date of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is around the corner, the leaks and rumors have unveiled almost every aspect of this new Samsung smartwatch. The latest news reveals that the Galaxy Watch 5 charging speed is doubled as compared to its predecessor.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro launch is set to take place on 10th August 2022. Besides, the Korean tech giant is also ready to unveil Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 along with the new Galaxy Buds Pro 2. However, the latest leak about the Galaxy Watch 5 charging time has excited users.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 charging speed doubled!
According to the Tipster SnoopyTech, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro features a 10W magnetic charger with the wearable device. That means it can charge your Samsung smartwatch to 45% in less than 30 minutes and 100% in a little over an hour. This 10W charger is definitely a big upgrade over the last year’s 5W charger for Galaxy Watch 4.
This Galaxy Watch 5 fast charging support is an amazing feature, especially for wearables with limited battery life. It seems that Samsung is following the same path as Apple. Last year, Apple released the Watch Series 7, which required only 8 minutes of battery charging to track you for the next 8 hours. Since then, every other smartwatch company is going for the 1-day fast charging support.

Most users charge their wearables at night to last the smartwatch for a complete one day. However, this makes it difficult to track your sleep. Since Galaxy Watch 5 comes with the crucial sleep tracking feature, this makes it necessary to have fast-charging support. Furthermore, fast charging will only work if the wearables support USB-C chargers. That’s the only way to boost the charging speed.
Apart from the charging speed, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro will feature a larger battery than their predecessor. This will definitely improve the overall smartwatch experience. According to the leak, Galaxy Watch 5 40mm version features a 284mAh battery, whereas the 44mm model sports a 410mAh battery. Most importantly, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro smartwatch comes with a whopping 590mAh battery.
There are rumors that with a 590mAh battery, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro can last up to 2 days. However, there is no confirmation about it. Regarding the processor, Samsung confirms using the same Exynos W920 processor found on the earlier wearables. Overall, we can say that 10W fast charging and a full charge in an hour is a significant improvement, considering the fact that users charge their Galaxy Watch every day.
As per tipster Roland Quandt, the Galaxy Watch 5 (40mm) price starts at $300 (₹25,000), whereas the Galaxy Watch 5 (44mm) price starts at $350 (₹29,000). The Pro version price might start at $400 (₹30,000).
