Did you install TWRP first?
This error happens becuse KNOX has locked your Bootloader, when you start the phpne in download mode by holding Volume up and Power or volume down and power (differnet for models) you will see a lovely RED error message, even if you disable it in Developer Options it remains locked, you can only get the key from Samsungmob on request. Secondly fastboot commands on Windows or MAC ADB to phone do NOT work on hardly ANY SAMSUNG DEVICES, you can send the phone into download mode with ADB, but then it has lost ADB connection to the Windows ADB server so “fastboot devices” wont even get to the Samsung A50, thirdly you have to download the correct Firmware for you already upgraded Saumsung version, the phones are NOT downgradable, you cannot go back to Android 9 without Knox, a camera with mutable click sounds and recordable calls, because the EU laws were changed, that’s why I wanted to downgrade, Im a developer and I cant hide Apps away that survive software resets for example STOLEN phones, these laws protect criminals. Lastly the only way to flash Android 10 devices is using ODIN, Magisk, Kingo Root all of them don’t work, If you can buy an old phone that hasnt been updated, and you can stop the updates, and you have the correct TWRP and ODIN versions for that time, and the Samsung Firmware files for that timeframe, you can flash the roms. If anyone claims to have flashed a Samsung A50 and beaten KNOX bootloader protection, then you are the only person in the world to have done so without Google System Keys, OEM Boot Lock KEYS, diferent folder locations for different variants of the a50 Series models are also true. My advice is to get a TWRP supported phone, which the A50 is not on their site, make sure its still Android PIE 9.0, and then try ROOT the damn thing. Because Android 10 got KNOX, a very noxious wall infront of your development aspirations
