To unlock the bootloader of Redmi Note 7 Pro, the company makes the users wait for at least 15 days. This is quite irritating, isn’t it? But don’t worry, in this guide, we’ll discuss some easy steps on how to unlock the bootloader of the Redmi Note 7 Pro without waiting.

Pre-Requisites:
- To avoid interruption, charge your phone at least 50%.
- Install Xiaomi USB drivers on PC to recognize your phone when connected through USB data cable.
- Also, install the latest ADB and fastboot drivers on your PC.
- This process will wipe complete phone data and settings. hence it is recommended to backup your contacts, apps, messages, call logs, notes, etc.
Steps to Unlock Bootloader of Redmi Note 7 Pro:
Step 1: Open your device Settings.
Step 2: Under Accounts, open Mi Account.
Step 3: Here, Sign in if you already have a Mi account OR create a new Mi account.
Step 4: Once signed in, enable Sync and Find device options from Mi Cloud.
Step 5: Go back and click on About Phone.
Step 6: Here, just tap 7 times on the MIUI version. It’ll show you a countdown message saying, “You’re 4,3,2,1 steps away from being a Developer”.
Tap on it until a message saying, ”You are now a developer” pops up.
Note: This will enable the hidden developer’s option in the settings.
Step 7: Go back to Settings and open Additional Settings.
Step 8: Scroll down and click on Developer options.
Step 9: On the next screen, enable the OEM Unlocking option.
Step 10: Also enable the USB debugging option.
Step 11: Then, open the Mi Unlock Status option. You’ll be asked for permission to view your device ID, IMEI number etc. in a pop-up dialog. Tap Agree.
Note: Ensure that you’ve inserted a SIM card in your device. As without it, you won’t be able to go ahead.
Next, the following screen will appear.
Step 12: Click on the Add account and device option.
Wait until a message saying, “Added successfully. Mi Account is associated with this device now” appears.
Step 13: Close everything and switch off your device.
Note: Now you need to boot Redmi Note 7 Pro into Fastboot mode.
Step 14: To do so, press and hold the Volume Down key + Power button simultaneously.
Leave both the keys as soon as the fastboot logo appears.
Step 15: Keeping the phone in fastboot mode, connect it to the computer using a standard USB cable.
Step 16: Download Mi Unlock Tool.
Note: Do NOT download the latest Mi Unlock Tool from the official Mi website as it’ll take 15-30 days to unlock the bootloader.
Step 17: Extract the downloaded Mi Unlock Tool on your computer. You’ll see the following files in the extracted folder:
Step 18: Launch miflash_unlock.exe file.
Note: Run it as Administrator.
Step 19: A disclaimer window will be shown. Tap on the Agree option.
Next, a Sign in window will appear.
Step 20: Type in your Username and Password to login to the Mi Account.
Note: Sign-in using the same account which you’ve on your phone (Refer Step 3).
Wait until the tool confirms whether your Mi Account has permissions or not.
Upon successful connection, the following window will appear.
Note: If Mi Unlock Tool shows error connection, then re-install Xiaomi USB drivers as well as ADB & fastboot drivers.
Step 21: Let’s initiate the bootloader unlock process now. For doing so, just click on the Unlock option.
A warning unlock countdown will appear on the screen.
Step 22: To start the process, simply tap on the red colored Unlock anyway button.
This will start the actual bootloader unlocking process of Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro.
Wait until the process finishes. It will hardly take few minutes to complete.
As soon as it finishes, a message saying Unlocked successfully will appear on the Mi Unlock Tool.
Step 23: Simply click on Reboot Phone to restart your phone.
Note: When your phone reboots, the Unlocked message will appear under the Redmi Note 7 Pro logo.
